Accountant – Bookkeeping & Client Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our fast‑growing practice. You will work directly with clients, handling their bookkeeping and accounts using cloud‑based software, and become an integral part of a dynamic team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain client bookkeeping and full accounts.
• Process invoices, payroll and tax filings using cloud platforms.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues across our Portsmouth and Gosport offices.
• Occasionally travel between offices as required.

Required profile

• Experience working in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts.
• Confident using Xero; experience with FreeAgent is a plus.
• Familiarity with Engager and TaxCalc is advantageous.
• AAT qualification preferred but not essential.
• Excellent client‑facing and organisational skills.
