Accountant – Full-time, On-site in Teddington

About the role

Tax Lex London is seeking a full-time, on-site Accountant to join its Teddington office. You will support individuals and small businesses with day-to-day bookkeeping, tax compliance and financial reporting, helping clients stay organized and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and review management and statutory accounts for individuals and small companies.
• Process payroll, calculate and submit VAT returns, and prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Produce year-end accounts and ensure all filing deadlines are met in line with UK regulations.
• Use cloud-based accounting software to record transactions and generate reports.
• Collaborate with the wider team and communicate directly with clients to resolve queries.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UK financial accounting standards and tax compliance.
• Professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA) completed or in progress, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple client deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero or QuickBooks.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
