Accountant – Full‑time, On‑site in Saltcoats

About the role

Anderson MacDonald, a trusted accountancy firm in Ayrshire, is looking for a full‑time Accountant to join its Saltcoats office. The role involves leading the accounts team, preparing and analysing financial statements, and delivering tax services for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day activities of the accounts team.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
• Manage individual and business tax returns, VAT and payroll submissions.
• Provide clients with advice on business planning, start‑up guidance and company secretarial matters.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Maintain high‑quality client interaction and deliver exceptional service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA is desirable.
• Proven experience in an accountancy practice handling a range of entity types.
• Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.

• Knowledge of digital tax solutions and financial compliance regulations.
