Accountant – M&A and Practice Acquisition (Remote, 30h/month)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the acquisition and integration of accountancy practices for a well‑established consultancy. This is a remote, temporary position (initially 3 months, 30 hours per month) offering a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Identify accountancy practices that match acquisition objectives.
• Support financial and operational due diligence exercises.
• Review financial information, tax records and client portfolios.
• Assist in preparing acquisition proposals and related documentation.
• Liaise with professional advisers such as accountants, solicitors and brokers.
• Contribute to negotiations and transaction processes.
• Support the integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Help expand services and client relationships within the UK market.
• Undertake market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout acquisition projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Practice Accountant, M&A Accountant, Acquisitions Accountant, Client Manager, Corporate Finance Accountant or similar.
• 2–3 years of experience working within an accountancy practice.
• ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent qualification.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Ability to analyse financial and operational information effectively.
• Interest in acquisitions, growth strategy and business development.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
