Accountant – Month End Reporting & GL Reconciliations

About the role

This position offers a part‑qualified or recently qualified accountant the chance to join a fast‑growing tech business in Glasgow. You will play a key part in month‑end reporting, ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet and general ledger while working closely with senior finance leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing month‑end management accounts.
• Analyse and report on key business metrics.
• Perform balance‑sheet and general‑ledger reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
• Calculate and review pre‑payments and accruals.
• Post journal entries for assigned business areas.
• Review expense and capital items on the balance sheet with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with internal SOX controls.
• Support finance projects and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified, finalist, or recently qualified accountant.
• Solid knowledge of general‑ledger and balance‑sheet accounting.
• Strong problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to engage across the business.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for process improvement.
