Accountant / Senior Accountant – Client Management

About the role

Join a well‑established chartered firm in Southampton as an Accountant or Senior Accountant with client‑management responsibilities. The role offers a blend of audit and accounts work, hybrid working options and clear progression pathways for qualified ACA/ACCA professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Compile and submit corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns.
• Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and individual clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Identify technical issues, risks and opportunities to add value for clients.
• Supervise and support junior staff, reviewing their work and providing guidance.
• Assist with business advisory and planning work as required.
• Liaise with partners on technical matters and present solutions to client queries.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA professional with strong UK practice experience.
• Experience in both accounts preparation and portfolio management.
• Ability to work within a 1‑hour commute to Southampton.
• Motivation to develop client relationships and progress within a chartered firm.
