Accounting Technician

About the role

Join Christian Aid’s Restricted Funds team in Belfast to support donor compliance and manage the day‑to‑day grant portfolio. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth month‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly Budget vs Actual reports for Restricted Funds accountants.
• Reconcile country team reports to the local SUN ledger.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process for restricted projects.
• Provide income and expenditure data for auditors.
• Generate journals, reports and reconciliations to support month‑end closing.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tasks to support the Restricted Funds team.

Required profile

• Qualified Accounting Technician (or equivalent) with at least two years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience preparing journals, reconciliations and reviewing financial information.
• Intermediate IT skills, including Excel and large financial systems such as SUN.
• Understanding of restricted funds, donor contracts and multiple currencies.
• Strong attention to detail, flexibility and ability to prioritize in a busy environment.
• Effective communication skills.
