Accounts Assistant – Automotive Finance

About the role

Join Sytner Group in High Wycombe as an Accounts Assistant supporting the day‑to‑day functions of the finance department within a busy automotive dealership. You will work with sales, purchase and vehicle ledgers, handle cash postings and bank reconciliations, and provide ad‑hoc assistance to the dealership accountant and management team. The role offers flexible working patterns, primarily Monday‑Friday, with occasional weekend coverage to maintain high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day accounting operations, including sales, purchase and vehicle ledgers.
• Process daily cash postings and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist the dealership accountant and management team with ad‑hoc financial duties.
• Carry out stock checks and month‑end reconciliations as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience with standard accounting routines, stock checks and month‑end reconciliations.
• Enthusiastic, well‑organised and diligent with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work both independently and as part of a small team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the CDK/Kerridge Dealer Management system (advantageous).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
