Accounts Assistant – Payroll & General Accounting

About the role
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support a well‑established client’s finance team on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The role combines payroll processing with core accounts duties, offering a solid entry point for candidates with recent finance experience.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing and timesheet management.
- Maintain accurate payroll and financial records.
- Support purchase and sales ledger activities.
- Process invoices, perform bank reconciliations, and update ledger entries.
- Use Microsoft Excel to analyse and manage financial data.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
Required profile
- Recent experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
- Exposure to payroll processing or related functions.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to start immediately or within two weeks.
Required skills
- Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP functions).
What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13‑£14.
- Office‑based role, approximately 37.5 hours per week.
- Potential for permanent placement after the temporary period.
