Accounts Manager – Rural Business (Agriculture & Property)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to lead our Agriculture & Property portfolio in Banbury. You will deliver tailored accounting and tax solutions to rural businesses while mentoring a growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of agricultural and rural business clients, providing bespoke accounting and tax services.
• Act as the primary point of contact, advising on financial strategies and business planning.
• Review accounts and tax returns prepared by junior staff, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
• Support partners with advisory projects, business planning and tax initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior staff, overseeing appraisals and workload distribution.
• Assist in managing the Agriculture & Property department, ensuring timely, on‑budget delivery of client work.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Previous exposure to rural business or property services is preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of accounts preparation and taxation.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and leading a team.
• Commercial mindset with a genuine passion for the rural sector.
