Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

Join a fast‑growing retail business in South Manchester as an Accounts Payable Clerk. You will own the end‑to‑end invoice processing cycle, manage supplier relationships and support the finance team in a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process large volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match, batch and code invoices for payment.
• Prepare and run weekly and monthly payment cycles.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support month‑end close activities and related reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Assist with process improvements across the Accounts Payable function.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider finance team as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger.
• Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Confident communicator with stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive, positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing team.

Required skills

• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using finance systems.
