Accounts Payable Manager – Lead AP Operations

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead end‑to‑end AP operations for a growing organisation in North Manchester. You will own the AP function, support migration projects and build a high‑performing team while ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong performance against SLAs and KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AP process migrations and drive standardisation across multiple entities.
• Oversee daily operations including invoice processing, payments and query resolution.
• Manage workloads and maintain service levels during peak periods.
• Ensure compliance with European regulations and internal financial controls.
• Coach, develop and motivate the AP team.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes.
• Identify and implement automation and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs and provide performance insights to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Accounts Payable / P2P, preferably within a shared‑services environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Track record of driving process improvements and change management.
• Excellent communication skills; additional European languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of ERP systems.
