Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager – Watford

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager to lead both AP and AR functions for a leading retail business in Watford. The role involves managing a finance team, ensuring strong cash flow, accurate processing, and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
• Oversee supplier payments, invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment runs.
• Manage customer collections, cash allocation, aged debt, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor working capital, cash flow, and AP/AR performance.
• Support month‑end activities, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and audit requirements.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and strengthen financial controls.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and improve processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience covering both AP and AR.
• Proven experience managing finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Dynamics, NetSuite).
• Retail or wholesale sector experience is advantageous.
