Accounts Technician – Bath

About the role

We are a well‑established, growing accountancy practice in Bath seeking an Accounts Technician to join our friendly, collaborative team. The role offers exposure to accounts, tax and audit, providing a platform for long‑term career development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
• Prepare tax calculations and support the tax team by identifying potential issues.
• Complete bookkeeping assignments for a varied client portfolio.
• Prepare and review management accounts and VAT returns.
• Build strong client relationships and respond to day‑to‑day queries.
• Support audit and tax teams on a range of assignments to broaden experience.
• Work closely with senior colleagues to ensure accurate, timely delivery of work.

Required profile

• Experience working within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or studying towards ACA or ACCA.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence managing own workload.
• Client‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks (training provided if required).
