Accuracy Checking Technician

About the role

The Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) works behind the counter to ensure every prescription is checked for accuracy and safety before it reaches the patient. You will collaborate closely with the pharmacist and the wider pharmacy team in a busy community setting, supporting smooth operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check and verify prescription details against medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain accurate patient records, medication histories, and dispensing logs.
• Provide telephone, email and digital support to customers, answering queries and offering advice.
• Use pharmacy dispensing software to process orders, manage inventory and update patient information.
• Support the pharmacy team with organisational tasks and ensure a tidy, compliant work environment.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, either community or distance‑selling.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Good organisational skills and a commitment to patient safety.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software.

• Full‑time permanent contract, Monday‑Friday 9:00‑17:30 and alternate Saturdays 9:00‑13:00.
