Adjudications Manager (Hybrid, Part‑time)

About the role

This permanent, part‑time position offers an experienced professional the chance to lead the delivery of disciplinary and appeal hearings within a respected regulatory organisation. Reporting to the Registrar and Director of Legal Services, you will ensure hearings are fair, lawful and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Manage disciplinary hearings before the Disciplinary Committee and Veterinary Nurse Disciplinary Committee.
• Arrange and oversee appeal hearings related to examinations, status and accreditation.
• Prepare and distribute hearing notices, documentation and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
• Develop and improve hearing processes, policies and protocols.
• Identify and implement best practice across the hearings function.
• Manage operational and regulatory risks, maintaining risk registers and escalating issues.
• Oversee information governance, security and publication of hearing‑related information.
• Lead recruitment, training and development of Committee Members, Legal Assessors and support staff.
• Prepare reports and present performance updates to senior leaders and committees.
• Line‑manage the Clerk to the Disciplinary Committees.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing hearings, tribunals or adjudication functions.
• Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, procedural rules and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with committee members, registrants and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop policies, improve processes and manage risk.
• Leadership experience in recruiting and developing staff.
