About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dynamic Advocacy Officer on a fixed‑term contract of eight months. You will help raise the profile of IRC’s humanitarian work among UK policymakers, political parties and opinion leaders, shaping influence strategies that drive systemic change.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain IRC’s credibility with UK politicians, parties and key opinion formers on humanitarian and development issues.
- Design and deliver influence strategies, identifying strategic lobbying opportunities.
- Enable colleagues to capitalize on lobbying windows using innovative and creative tactics.
- Develop and nurture strategic relationships within Parliament to advance IRC objectives.
- Provide fresh insights and analysis to inform IRC’s advocacy positioning.
Required profile
- Solutions‑driven, passionate change‑maker with a strong commitment to humanitarian values.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work across programme, research, communications and external partners.
- Creative and precise in crafting messages and tactics.
- Flexible to respond to emerging advocacy needs while maintaining focus on long‑term system change.
