After School Club Assistant – Primary School (Croydon)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an After School Club Assistant to support children in a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Croydon. You will work alongside a dedicated team to create a safe, stimulating environment for pupils of all ages during the after‑school period.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a variety of after‑school activities from 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday‑Friday.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming club space.
• Support inclusive practice, ensuring all children feel valued and can participate.
• Assist with snack times and basic wellbeing checks.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to align club activities with the school’s ethos.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, preferably as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Ability to work flexibly with mixed‑age groups.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training (desirable).
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or equivalent.
