Agricultural Accounts Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Agricultural Accounts Manager to join a growing accountancy practice serving farms and rural businesses. The role combines technical accounting expertise with client‑facing responsibilities, offering a supportive environment and clear career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare and review personal, corporation tax and VAT returns.
• Manage a portfolio of agricultural and rural business clients, delivering expert advice.
• Attend client meetings, build strong relationships and ensure service quality.
• Oversee workflow, delegate tasks and mentor junior team members.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UK accounting, tax and VAT legislation.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems and internal processes.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum five years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting, tax and VAT regulations.
• Experience with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Required skills

• Xero (essential).
• IRIS (advantageous).
