AI and Privacy Counsel

About the role

Sabio Group is seeking a commercially‑minded lawyer to join its legal team, working closely with Information Security and AI Compliance & Governance. The role focuses on translating complex AI and data‑protection regulations into practical commercial advice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate AI‑specific terms in customer, partner, reseller and channel agreements.
• Maintain Sabio’s AI contracting playbook, including standard clauses and negotiation guidance.
• Support French and/or Spanish commercial contracting during high‑volume periods.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day legal point of contact for EU AI Act obligations, risk classification, transparency and provider/deployer responsibilities.
• Collaborate on ISO 42001 compliance and align contractual commitments with operational realities.
• Provide IP advice for AI contexts, support data‑protection impact assessments and AI risk assessments.
• Advise on international data transfers, data‑subject request handling and ongoing data‑protection obligations.
• Run training sessions and produce written content such as playbook entries, position papers and internal briefings.
• Support customer audits and legal responses to AI and data‑related incidents or disputes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in the UK, France, Spain or an equivalent jurisdiction.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) drafting and negotiating technology, SaaS or services contracts in a B2B/enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience with AI‑specific or closely related terms (data protection, GDPR, UK GDPR).
• Working knowledge of the EU AI Act and familiarity with ISO 42001.
