AI Strategy and Transformation Consultant / Director

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior AI Strategy and Transformation Consultant/Director to lead AI‑driven consulting engagements for its financial services clients, particularly card issuers. Reporting to the Principal and collaborating closely with the Mastercard AI team, you will shape long‑term AI strategies and oversee the implementation of AI solutions that transform analytics, automation and value generation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI strategies that address complex business challenges for payments‑centric organisations.
• Identify high‑impact AI and analytics opportunities, quantify value potential and define ROI‑focused roadmaps.
• Architect end‑to‑end AI solutions by integrating data engineering, solution design and domain expertise.
• Secure executive alignment, translating AI visions into actionable plans with clear timelines and success metrics.
• Scale AI initiatives across multiple use cases while managing technical and organisational hurdles.
• Advance Mastercard’s AI capabilities through thought leadership, external outreach and new service development.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative culture around innovative AI methodologies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in AI strategy, consulting and implementation for financial services or payments organisations.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, ML engineers and business strategists.
• Strong executive communication skills and a track record of securing stakeholder buy‑in for AI initiatives.
• Demonstrated thought leadership and experience developing new AI‑focused service offerings.
