AML Manager

About the role

Wise May Ltd is recruiting an AML Manager to join a leading global law firm. Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Privacy – Europe, you will lead a team of AML Analysts and drive the firm’s anti‑money laundering and financial crime compliance programme.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee AML onboarding, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and ongoing monitoring.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert on AML regulations and financial‑crime requirements.
• Identify and implement process, system and control improvements to enhance efficiency and risk management.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the firm stays ahead of upcoming changes.
• Lead, mentor and develop the AML analyst team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of CDD reports, risk assessments and screening outcomes.
• Provide AML advice, training and guidance to lawyers and staff across the firm.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and inspections.

Required profile

• Significant AML experience within a law‑firm environment, covering onboarding, CDD, EDD and ongoing monitoring.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a compliance team.
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• A degree in law or a related discipline is desirable.
