Analytics Governance Analyst

About the role

Join a leading global financial institution as it builds a new Analytics Governance capability. You will play a pivotal part in a high‑profile data transformation programme, helping to define governance frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance and raise analytics standards across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Champion analytics governance standards and promote best practice throughout the organisation.
• Identify, classify, catalogue and maintain inventories of Key Data Uses (KDUs) and End‑User Computing (EUC) tools.
• Conduct governance assessments and gap analyses against policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Define, track and drive remediation plans with business owners to close identified gaps.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks covering the full lifecycle of analytics assets, from development to retirement.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive adoption of governance standards.
• Support compliance initiatives aligned with BCBS239 and broader regulatory expectations.
• Produce governance reporting, project updates and management information for senior stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted advisor, educating teams on analytics governance principles and fostering cultural change.

Required profile

• Proven experience establishing analytics or EUC governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of BCBS239 principles and data‑related regulatory requirements in financial services.
• Experience working within banking or financial services environments.
• Hands‑on experience with governance and cataloguing tools such as Collibra or Apparity.
• Solid knowledge of analytics and reporting lifecycles, including SDLC practices.
