Anaplan Solutions Architect

About the role

FDM Group, a global business and technology consultancy, is looking for an Anaplan Solutions Architect to join its insurance‑sector client on a six‑month contract in London. Working in a hybrid model, you will design and implement complex planning solutions on the Anaplan cloud platform for actuarial and finance teams while helping to establish an Anaplan Centre of Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the Lead Anaplanner and business stakeholders to define and deliver the Anaplan roadmap.
• Support business and technical colleagues to ensure best‑practice Anaplan architecture.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance to end‑users of live Anaplan models.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Technology Architecture and subject‑matter experts to shape the Anaplan solution.
• Follow change‑deployment processes and control frameworks across the Anaplan landscape.
• Apply Agile methodologies and use Azure DevOps to deliver features, epics or user stories.
• Design, build, test and maintain Anaplan models that meet key stakeholder requirements.
• Present complex technical concepts in clear business terms.
• Document all processes and technical deliveries comprehensively.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a financial analyst or financial systems developer using Anaplan.
• Consulting experience, including eliciting requirements from senior stakeholders, solution design and UAT support.
• Proven ability to design, build, test and implement new Anaplan models.
• Knowledge of Anaplan Lifecycle Management (ALM) and change‑release processes (DEV/UAT/PRD).
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis.
• Desirable experience with actuarial processes, Lloyd’s insurance market, and VBA scripting.
