Android Engineer – Regional Experience

About the role

Wise is looking for an Android Engineer to join its Regional Experience team. You will help deliver localized, high‑quality user experiences across the app, working on everything from onboarding to money transfers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional product teams to design and launch seamless Android features.
• Champion agile ceremonies, refine team processes and promote a strong engineering culture.
• Drive Android guild initiatives, setting best practices and raising code quality across the organization.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and adaptable for multiple regional markets.
• Work closely with 60+ mobile engineers and cross‑functional peers to align on product vision.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and deploying customer‑facing Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and a passion for writing testable, high‑quality code.
• Familiarity with modern app architectures such as Unidirectional Data Flow, Dependency Injection and Kotlin Coroutines.
• Understanding of REST API design and ability to make data‑driven product decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
