Antenatal Administration Team Lead – Patient Pathway Manager

About the role
This role leads the Antenatal Administration team within a maternity clinic, ensuring efficient patient pathway management and high‑quality service delivery. You will work closely with senior staff to meet national standards, Trust targets, and budgetary goals.
Key responsibilities
- Support the antenatal administration team to achieve consistent, high‑quality performance.
- Manage staff objectives, appraisals, leave, and sickness absence.
- Address workforce issues such as recruitment, retention, training, development, and flexible working.
- Handle performance, conduct, and sickness matters in line with Trust policies.
- Participate in recruitment, including shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Induct and train new staff, providing day‑to‑day guidance and leadership.
- Maintain knowledge of Trust computer systems for booking, recording, and auditing referrals and appointments.
- Escalate urgent concerns in the absence of the Antenatal Clinic Manager or ANC Midwife.
- Assist in preparing for CQC assessments and updating improvement plans.
Required profile
- Proven experience in line management and team leadership within a healthcare administration setting.
- Strong understanding of NHS referral, appointment, and pathway processes.
- Ability to manage workforce issues, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to delivering services that meet national standards and Trust targets.
