AOCS/GNC Engineering Placement – 12 months

About the role

This 12‑month placement offers a blend of learning and hands‑on technical work, giving you extensive experience in the design and analysis of space‑mission Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) and Attitude and Orbital Control System (AOCS) for both small studies and large projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the AOCS/GNC studies team in designing and developing new concepts for AOCS/GNC and flight‑dynamics algorithms.
• Perform spacecraft control engineering, navigation and guidance tasks, develop simulators, create mathematical models and develop algorithms.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying a numerate discipline such as engineering, physics, computer science or mathematics, remaining an undergraduate for the full placement.
• Graduation date must be after the placement end date.

Required skills

• General computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Objective‑C, Swift, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Java, JavaScript or assembler.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work comfortably within a team.

What we offer

• Salary of £24,500 per annum.
