Application Support Analyst – Hybrid (VB.NET experience essential)

About the role

This is a hybrid Application Support Analyst position within a regulated financial services environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing bespoke applications that are critical to business operations, working four days onsite in London.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on support for custom‑built applications hosted on Windows Server environments operating in load‑balanced pools.
• Troubleshoot and maintain services across the logic layer to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex issues into clear, actionable insights.
• Drive automation initiatives and secure file transfers using PowerShell, SFTP and WinSCP.
• Support and enhance internal tools developed in VB.NET, including debugging and minor code adjustments.
• Oversee and optimise ETL workflows built with SSIS, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
• Create and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Uphold security standards, including identity and access protocols such as Entra ID.
• Manage code repositories and deployments using GIT, following best‑practice version control.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in application support within a Windows Server environment.
• Experience delivering automation solutions and handling secure file transfers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and business teams.
