Application Support & Test Engineer – QA, SQL, API

About the role

We are looking for an Application Support & Test Engineer to join a growing technology‑focused team in Bournemouth. The role is hybrid, with 2‑3 days on site each week, and offers a competitive salary of £40,000‑£45,000 plus benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day application support for web‑based software.
• Execute manual functional testing and create detailed test cases.
• Track defects, manage bug lifecycles and ensure timely resolution.
• Produce technical documentation and clear written reports in English.
• Perform SQL queries and Power BI reporting to validate data.
• Test RESTful APIs and contribute to automated test suites using Playwright.
• Assist with business analysis, workflow design and process improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of commercial software QA experience in a web environment.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on manual application testing.
• Proven experience with defect tracking and bug management tools.
• Strong written English and technical documentation skills.
