Arboricultural Consultant – Permanent, South England

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Arboricultural Consultant to join our growing Southern team. The role is field‑based, supporting a strong pipeline of infrastructure, planning and development projects across the South of England.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct BS5837:2012 tree surveys and provide development planning support.
• Perform Visual Tree Assessments (VTA) and detailed tree condition inspections.
• Prepare technical reports and deliver arboricultural recommendations.
• Supervise tree protection measures on construction sites, including utilities and air‑excavation works.
• Carry out decay‑related assessments, woodland management and broader consultancy input.

Required profile

• Proven experience in arboricultural consultancy or surveying.
• NVQ Level 4 (or higher) in Arboriculture & Forestry.
• LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification.
• Strong track record with BS5837:2012 and development projects.
• Full clean UK driving licence.

Required skills

• BS5837:2012 survey methodology.
• Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) capability.
• NVQ Level 4 Arboriculture & Forestry knowledge.
• LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification.
• CSCS and/or ROLO certification.
• Proficiency with tree/survey IT systems.
