Architecture Tutor for 13-15 year olds (Summer Course)

About the role
Oxford Summer Courses is seeking enthusiastic Architecture Tutors to lead a two‑week summer programme for students aged 13‑15. You will design and deliver a bespoke curriculum that sparks curiosity, encourages critical thinking and nurtures creative design skills in a studio‑style environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design a complete two‑week architecture course, including eight 3‑hour seminars.
- Deliver interactive, hands‑on sessions to a class of up to twelve students.
- Create and assess assignments, providing individual feedback.
- Write personalised letters of recommendation for each student.
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Complete mandatory training and reporting to the Study Coordinator.
Required profile
- Passion for teaching architecture to teenagers.
- Experience or strong interest in architectural design and studio teaching.
- Ability to develop curriculum and adapt content to student interests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Required skills
- Knowledge of architectural design principles.
- Curriculum development for short‑term courses.
- Ability to give constructive feedback on design work.
What we offer
- Hourly rate from £32 to £55, based on expertise.
- Enhanced DBS provision where required.
- Travel expenses reimbursed; accommodation not provided.
- Preparation allowance of 3‑4 hours per class.
