ASD Support Worker – Primary School (Calne)

About the role
A friendly primary school in Calne is looking for a dedicated ASD Support Worker to help pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder thrive in the classroom. You will work closely with children, teachers and families to create a supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ASD.
- Help pupils access learning activities and fully participate in school life.
- Support the development of communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills.
- Implement personalised support strategies in line with each pupil’s individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and parents to promote positive outcomes.
- Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Patient, caring and empathetic.
- Passionate about supporting children with autism and additional needs.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Calm, resilient and adaptable in a school setting.
- Experience in SEN, education, care, support work or youth work (desirable but not essential).
Required skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.

- Competitive daily pay of £90‑£105.
- Full‑time hours (8:30 am – 3:30 pm).
