Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a multi‑site business in Borehamwood. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support day‑to‑day accounting operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process weekly trading information from sites.
• Ensure timely receipt of monies and bank deposits.
• Reconcile joint‑venture events and third‑party accounts.
• Compile weekly trading statistics and flag anomalies.
• Perform wage percentage input and highlight inefficiencies, overspends and abnormal discounts.
• Assist in weekly payment proposals and perform bank reconciliations.
• Support payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Provide assistance to purchase ledger, accounts payable and credit control functions.
• Contribute to PRS submissions and year‑end audit activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reconciliation and month‑end/year‑end processes.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to support AP, credit control and payroll functions as needed.
