About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Leeds branch of a respected plumbers merchant. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will help drive sales, improve profitability and support day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑moving, £2.5m turnover environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in leading a 5‑person team.
- Oversee daily operations to free up time for sales activities.
- Maintain and enhance the branch’s market position.
- Monitor financial performance and contribute to profit targets.
- Assist in staff supervision, training and performance reviews.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a plumbers merchant, builders merchant or related construction supply environment.
- Background in both sales and operational supervision.
- Ability to inspire and develop a small team.
- Strong commercial awareness and focus on profitability.
