Assistant Client Manager – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Client Manager to support a growing boutique accountancy practice in North West London. Working closely with a Partner, you will manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses while staying hands‑on with technical accounting work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed SMEs across various sectors.
• Prepare statutory accounts and review the work of junior accountants.
• Support the Partner in daily workflow, deadlines and capacity planning.
• Ensure assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building long‑term relationships and offering practical advice.
• Mentor and develop junior staff through regular reviews and technical support.
• Identify and implement improvements to internal processes and client service.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to support the practice’s growth.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience).
• Proven experience preparing statutory accounts for SMEs/owner‑managed businesses.
• Confidence reviewing work of others while still willing to prepare accounts personally.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills across multiple assignments.
• Excellent client relationship and communication abilities.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to support team objectives.
