About the role
Plumpton College is looking for an ambitious Assistant Curriculum Manager to lead its Horticulture and Floristry study programmes. The role combines teaching expertise with strategic curriculum development to ensure high‑quality learning experiences and strong student outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of horticulture and floristry programmes.
- Line‑manage and mentor curriculum staff, supporting performance, development and wellbeing.
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment and student experience.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, achievement and retention, taking corrective action when needed.
- Support curriculum planning, timetabling, staffing and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and lead quality‑improvement activities.
- Maintain industry‑relevant programmes through engagement with employers and stakeholders.
- Contribute to recruitment, marketing and promotional events.
Required profile
- A degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience in teaching and assessing with a record of high standards.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Required skills
- Proficiency with IT tools and virtual learning environments, such as MS Teams.
