About the role
We are partnering with an established software business in Central London to hire an Assistant Financial Controller. This hands‑on position supports the Financial Controller and offers exposure to core accounting, month‑end processes, and group reporting across multiple entities, including overseas subsidiaries.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, cashbooks and bank reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany balances and multi‑currency transactions.
- Support month‑end activities such as accruals, pre‑payments and reporting.
- Assist with VAT returns, statutory accounts and broader compliance requirements.
- Provide cover for the Financial Controller when needed.
Required profile
- 3–5+ years of experience in a finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Confident handling reconciliations and month‑end processes.
- Ideally studying or qualified in AAT, ACCA or CIMA with multi‑entity exposure.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
