Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables

About the role

The Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables will be based in the United Kingdom and support Unison’s European operations. The role combines legal oversight of telecom infrastructure acquisitions with the development of the company’s renewable energy portfolio across EU markets.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Regional General Counsel – Europe on telecom‑related legal matters.
• Manage end‑to‑end acquisition processes for cell‑tower assets across multiple EU jurisdictions.
• Coordinate closings with external advisors, brokers, site owners, banks and fund managers.
• Conduct legal and property due diligence, including lease and title reviews.
• Prepare pre‑close reports, closing statements and finance reviews.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, lease agreements and related documentation.
• Oversee a pipeline of renewable‑energy lease acquisitions and support negotiations with developers.
• Provide underwriting analyses and advise senior management on renewable‑energy structuring options.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in transaction work and closing of telecom infrastructure deals.
• Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and multi‑jurisdictional legal projects.
• Experience working closely with senior management, origination, pricing and property teams.
• Strong understanding of EU telecom and renewable‑energy regulatory environments.
