Assistant Greenkeeper

About the role

Get Golfing is looking for an Assistant Greenkeeper to support the maintenance of the historic Hampton Court Palace golf course. You will help ensure a high‑quality playing surface and a pleasant experience for golfers.

Key responsibilities

• Mow, water and plant trees and shrubs across the course.
• Control weeds, pests and diseases using environmentally friendly methods.
• Renovate and maintain bunkers, hazards and water features.
• Repair damage caused by golfers or wildlife.
• Respond to golfer enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with drainage issues and operate irrigation systems.
• Cut new holes on greens and keep them in optimal condition.
• Operate and maintain all relevant machinery and tools.

Required profile

• Level 2 Sports Turf Management qualification.
• Previous experience in golf‑course or similar turf maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of environmentally friendly turf practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for golf and commitment to high standards.
• Availability to work weekends and Bank Holidays.

Required skills

• Level 2 Sports Turf Management.
• Operation and maintenance of turf‑care machinery and tools.
