Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our Farmfoods store in Corby. This full‑time, permanent position involves working a flexible 43‑hour week across five days, including weekends, to ensure the shop runs smoothly and customers receive excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager in daily operations and act as the acting manager in their absence.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of retail assistants, providing feedback and mentoring.
• Oversee store routines, deliveries, and maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
• Control operational costs by managing shrinkage, waste and payroll.
• Assist with recruitment, induction and training of new staff.

Required profile

• Friendly, positive and hardworking attitude with strong people skills.
• Reliability and trustworthiness as a key member of a small team.
• Previous experience in a managerial, team‑lead or supervisory role.
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check (or equivalent) and meet satisfactory employment checks.
