Assistant Manager – Retail (Guildford)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join a popular high‑street retailer in Guildford. You will support the Store Manager in delivering excellent customer service, driving sales and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staffing levels and create schedules to optimise store performance.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members, encouraging skill growth.
• Monitor store KPIs, prepare performance reports and share insights with senior management.
• Promote the store on social media and through local marketing events to increase footfall.
• Handle customer enquiries, resolve issues and maintain high service standards.
• Set objectives, conduct appraisals and support personal development plans for staff.

Required profile

• Proven retail experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Track record of meeting KPIs and managing budgets.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team.
• People‑focused, enjoys a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Experience in fashion, beauty, footwear or accessories is preferred.
