Assistant SENCo – Primary School (2 teaching days)

About the role
We are seeking an Assistant SENCo to join a welcoming primary school in Brent, London, starting September 2026. The role combines two days of teaching a high‑needs Year 3 class with supporting the school’s SENCo on the remaining days.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, inclusive lessons to small groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Provide targeted interventions and personalised support to close learning gaps.
- Assist the SENCo in implementing the school’s SEN policy and staying current with legislation and best practice.
- Monitor pupil progress using assessment data and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Collaborate with class teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
- Promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture and model excellent practice for colleagues.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEN across the primary phase (EYFS, KS1, KS2).
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to delivering engaging, well‑structured lessons for mixed‑age groups.
- Reflective, proactive team player with a positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
