About the role
The school is seeking an Assistant SENCO to join its inclusive team in September 2026. This full‑time position will support the delivery of high‑quality education for pupils with special educational needs, initially within the primary phase and later extending to the nursery.
Key responsibilities
- Teach in an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) class with six non‑verbal/ASD pupils.
- Lead and collaborate with a strong, experienced HLTA team.
- Support the preparation and submission of EHCP applications, including assessments and report writing.
- Provide ongoing SEN leadership and support across the primary and nursery settings.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Demonstrated experience or strong understanding of SEN, particularly autism spectrum disorders.
- Ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced, multicultural school environment.
- Excellent organisational and data‑management skills for high‑level admin tasks.
Required skills
- Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons for SEN pupils.
- Proficiency in completing and analysing SEN‑related assessments and documentation.
