Assistant Shop Manager – Charity Shop

About the role

The British Red Cross is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to join its friendly charity shop team in Bangor, Caernarfonshire. You will work alongside the shop manager to run a profitable, customer-focused shop that acts as the charity's window on the high street, while supporting the work of the charity across the UK and abroad. The role is a 3-month fixed-term contract of 21 hours per week, paid at £24,969 per annum pro rata.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the shop manager to run a profitable, customer-focused shop.
• Work on the shop floor and coordinate activity behind the scenes, with no two days the same.
• Foster a great shopping environment and deliver an excellent customer experience in store.
• Oversee a team of dedicated volunteers, delivering their induction, management and development.

Required profile

• Experience and know-how from working in a shop environment.
• A people person who enjoys giving customers an excellent experience, championing a team and meeting people from all walks of life.
• Commercially aware, with good awareness of financial targets and measures.
• Ability to work flexibly to the needs of the store.

Required skills

• Proven IT skills.
