Assistant Site Officer (Walthamstow)

About the role

The new school site in Walthamstow needs a reliable Assistant Site Officer to support day‑to‑day operations on a temporary supply basis. You will work Monday‑Friday, afternoons, helping keep the premises safe, clean and functional for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Support the daily running and upkeep of the school site.
• Assist with opening and securing the premises as required.
• Carry out basic maintenance, repairs and general DIY tasks.
• Maintain classrooms, communal areas and outdoor spaces.
• Help with deliveries, furniture moves and room setups.
• Perform routine checks and report issues to the Site Manager.
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for the whole school community.

Required profile

• Experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance or a similar site‑based role (desirable).
• Practical, dependable and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in high standards.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected tasks.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in a school setting.
• Reliability, trustworthiness and commitment to supporting the school community.
