Assistant Store Manager – Retail Operations (Swindon)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the smooth running of our Swindon site, helping customers with their storage needs and ensuring the store operates to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries, convert leads into reservations and deliver excellent service.
• Support sales activity, upsell where appropriate and maximise opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records, customer information and internal systems.
• Assist with rent payments, arrears and general administration.
• Ensure the site is clean, safe, secure and well presented, carrying out basic health & safety checks and reporting maintenance issues.
• Support day-to-day operations and help the wider team achieve strong site performance.

Required profile

• Organised, customer-focused and comfortable working in a hands-on role.
• Background in retail, hospitality, leisure, sales administration, customer service or property/facilities management.
• Strong customer service skills, good organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence using systems and Microsoft Office.
• Proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.
• Commercial mindset and confidence speaking to customers about products and services.
• Previous self-storage experience useful but not essential.

• Salary £28,000 per year.
• Discretionary end-of-year bonus.
• 40-hour contract, Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30 with occasional Saturday rota.
