Associate Director of Campus Operations

About the role

The Associate Director of Campus Operations ensures that the LCCA London campuses operate safely, efficiently, consistently and effectively, providing the physical and operational conditions needed for an excellent student and staff experience. The role provides clear institutional ownership of campus readiness, operational standards, capacity utilisation, service assurance and coordination between campus-facing functions. It reports to the Deputy Managing Director and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Campus operations and readiness: lead campus operations, ensure readiness for teaching, enrolment and events, set standards for opening, closing, incident management and service continuity, and escalate operational risks.
• Student Hub and campus-facing services: oversee its performance, monitor service levels, queues, demand and complaints, and ensure an inclusive student experience.
• Estates, facilities, health and safety: act as the senior link with Estates/Facilities on maintenance, cleaning, security, access and repairs, and support health and safety arrangements and incident investigation.
• Capacity and resource utilisation: oversee campus and classroom capacity, work with academics and professional services on capacity pressures, and support planning for new intakes and delivery changes.
• Cross-campus consistency: develop common operational standards and improve consistency across campuses.
• Service assurance: set operational KPIs, commission service reviews and audits, track corrective actions and report risks to the Deputy Managing Director.
• Strategic planning: contribute to growth planning and assess the operational implications of new programmes, delivery models and campuses.
• Leadership and collaboration: work with Directors and Heads across Professional Services and build strong relationships with academic leadership, Estates, Facilities, Student Services, Registry and Quality.

Required profile

• Essential: significant operational leadership experience in a complex organisation, including multi-site operations, service standards, operational assurance and cross-functional working.
• Strong understanding of operational management, service delivery, risk, health and safety interfaces, capacity planning and performance management.
• Ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders and establish clear accountability.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, planning, prioritisation, data interpretation and stakeholder management.
• Desirable: higher education or comparable education-sector experience, experience of major campus expansion or transformation, and a relevant professional qualification.
• Right to work in the UK is required; the employer is not a licensed sponsor.
