Associate Solicitor – Healthcare & Large Loss (5-10 PQE)

About the role

Keoghs Scotland are seeking to recruit a 5-10 PQE solicitor to join their expanding team in Glasgow. The role is a hybrid one across the Healthcare and Large Loss teams, handling a varied caseload of defender pre‑litigated and litigated healthcare and large loss cases for insurers and corporate risk clients.

Key responsibilities

• Run own case load of pre‑ and post‑litigation clinical negligence and large loss claims.
• Prepare advice for insurers and other corporate clients.
• Adhere to court deadlines and manage files in line with client SLAs.
• Conduct forensic review and analysis of documents to assess liability, quantum and causation.
• Prepare court documents, correspondence and witness statements.
• Negotiate settlements and undertake court appearance work.
• Provide instructions to experts and work closely with counsel.
• Support business development by drafting articles, blog pieces and presentations.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years PQE litigation experience in large loss or clinical negligence.
• Experience appearing in the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.
• Team player with excellent communication, forensic and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Resilience, self‑control and a commercial insight‑driven mindset.
