Audit Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to lead a high‑value audit portfolio for a respected accountancy firm with a strong national presence. You will own a substantial client base, work closely with entrepreneurial owners, and drive both team development and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large, technically complex audit engagements across a varied portfolio.
• Oversee the full audit process, including planning, budgeting, resourcing and delivery.
• Act as a trusted adviser to owner‑managed businesses on commercial and personal matters.
• Manage senior‑level client relationships, ensuring consistently high service standards.
• Analyse complex business issues, identifying key risks, priorities and opportunities.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Proven track record auditing clients across multiple industries.
• Experience managing a large client portfolio and leading multiple engagements.
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop high‑performing teams.
