Audit Manager / Assistant Manager – Chartered Accountancy Firm

About the role

We are a well‑established firm of Chartered Accountants in Hertfordshire seeking an Audit Manager or Assistant Manager to support our growing client portfolio. You will be the primary contact for a range of SME to large corporate clients and will lead audit engagements from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients as the main point of contact.
• Lead statutory and voluntary audits from planning through to completion.
• Mentor and supervise junior team members.
• Prepare audit plans, risk assessments and budgets.
• Ensure audit files are technically robust and compliant with ISAs (UK) and FRS 102.
• Deliver assignments within agreed deadlines and budgets.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with manager‑level experience.
• Strong UK practice audit experience.
• Proven ability to lead audits from planning to completion.
• Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff.
• Good technical knowledge of ISAs (UK) and FRS 102.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, professional approach.
